Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has been available on the PC and Playstation 3 platforms for a few months now. But with the recent release of the Playstation 4 console many gamers have been wondering when the game will be available for it. Square Enix, the company that heads the development of the MMO, recently announced details regarding beta dates and an official launch window for the PS4 version of FFXIV.
SE stated in a press release that the beta tests for FFXIV: ARR on the Playstation 4 will start on February 22nd of next year. Additionally, the company went on to say that they are aiming for a full release on the system in April of 2014. Gamers that purchased the title for PS3 will be able to join the PS4 beta for free. It is also known that PS3 players will not have to pay any additional fees to upgrade to the Playstation 4 version.
So, that’s pretty exciting news. FFXIV will officially be on a next-generation console in about 4 months. While it may seem like a ways off we are glad to see Square taking its time to make sure the game has a smooth launch. With a heavy focus on massively multiplayer games, FFXIV: ARR should do pretty well on the PS4.
