About Warriors in FFXIV
The Warrior class is one that is found in nearly every MMO created. In most games these classes are designed to be extremely strong and capable of putting out tons of DPS. But in FFXIV: ARR it’s actually one of the jobs that is best classified as a tank. It can still dish out some pretty heavy damage but the extra skills you receive when you take on this job make it much more suited for the position of a tank than a DPS.
Players can become a Warrior by first reaching level 30 as a Marauder (learn more here) and level 15 as a Gladiator (full guide here). After that you simply need to visit the Coral Tower and speak with the appropriate NPC to take on the job.
NOTE: The primary stats you’ll want to focus on increasing as a Warrior are strength (STR) and vitality (VIT).
Skills of the Warrior
As we mentioned before, once you take on the role of the Warrior you’ll gain access to a set of new skills that are definitely geared toward making your character a great tank. You’ll still keep the skills you obtained upon choosing the Marauder class but these new ones will supplement your abilities.

As always, taking on a job will give you a whole new set of quests to complete. The quests you’ll be given as a Warrior will teach you your new skills, help you to level up more, and learn how to best use your new class.
Here are all of the quests you’ll have to complete:
- Pride and Duty (level 30)
- Embracing the Beast (level 35)
- Curious Gorge Goes to Wineport (level 40)
- Looking the Part (level 45)
- Proof is the Pudding (level 45)
- How to Quit You (level 50)
- A Relic Reborn (level 50)
Each of these quests will give you the opportunity to gain more XP, gil, and a few new items for your character. A few quests will also be geared toward teaching you more about your new skills. The first of these quests will be given to you by Wyrnzoen who is found in Coral Tower. The rest are given to your character by an NPC by the name of Curious Gorge who is located in the Bloodshore area of La Noscea.
